Men’s Hockey in Olympics
Men’s field hockey was first time introduced in the 1908 London Summer Olympics. Field hockey’s in-out was continued until 1928 when it becomes the permanent event of the Olympics. included in 1908 but not included in the next Olympic 1912 again included in 1920 and remove again in 1924.
1908 – London-England

The men’s field hockey first time was included in the summer Olympics in 1908 London. Only six teams participated in the event. Four teams were from Great Britain and two other teams are France and Germany

1920 – Antwerp – Belgium

The 2nd edition wasiIn Antwerp Olympics, only four teams took part in the event. All teams are in one pool and play against each other. The top of the team will declare the winner of the men’s field hockey

The 10th edition of men’s field hockey was played in Tokyo. A total of fifteen teams took part in the event and were placed into two groups. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the semi-final.

The gold medal match was played between India and Pakistan. India won the gold beating Pakistan by 1-0. This is the third consecutive Olympics final were played between these two nations. Interestingly in the last three gold medal matches their score were also the same. One time in Pakistan’s favor and two times in India.s favor.
1968 Mexico City – Mexico

The 11th edition of men’s field hockey was hosted by Mexico. A total of sixteen teams took part in the event and were placed into two groups. Two leading teams of each group will play the semi-final.

The Soviet Union hosts the 14th edition of hockey in the summer Olympics. The twelve teams were supposed to take part in the event but due to the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. The original teams qualified for the Olympics were
